The perfect parents for in-home tutoring

Okay, no parent is perfect, and that definitely includes myself, but Dr. D and I have noticed traits that enhance our students' and your child's ability to learn and improve behaviors. These traits are:

Supports your child's custom tutoring program and, if needed, behavior management program.
Understands the importance of consistency for in-home tutoring sessions. We know things come up, but tutoring should remain a priority as much as possible.
I mean no offense by this last one, but both Dr. D and I have seen it. You run your household, not your child. Especially in the teen years, it becomes easier to give in to nagging and whining. That leads to cancellations of tutoring sessions and even worse, an increase in nagging and whining because you're enabling the behavior.

As I said, I don't expect perfect parents. The fact that you're reading this shows how much you want to help your child. Dr. D and I look forward to helping your child as well.

In home tutoring services include

Homework is our biggest call, but often there are underlying issues which are causing the challenge of doing homework.
Behavior management with custom programs such as my variation of the gold star rewards program or Dr. D's point system.
Help with poor grades and improving grades PERMANENTLY. NOT just while we're tutoring.
Studying for the SAT.
Improving study habits and techniques (example).
Increase test scores (example)

How much do you charge for in-home tutoring here on Oahu, Rick?

We charge $95.00 per hour with a cash discount of $75.00 per hour. The minimum session duration is one hour.

The ability to effectively transfer knowledge to another individual in a positive manner, ensuring information retention, requires a distinct skill set. In other words....

Knowing something ≠ being able to teach something

I'm sure there are cheaper options out there for tutoring

You simply have to ask yourself, "Why are they cheaper?" Dr D, which is what our students call Dr. Alice Depina, and I are both trained, experienced teachers. Our students call me Mr. K.

Do you offer remote tutoring?

I do, but Dr. D doesn't tutor remotely. I have a bit of an advantage to tutoring remotely. Before I started I'm home tutoring specializing in students with ADHD, I was, and still am, an in home and remote computer and cell phone tutor and troubleshooter. The tuition is the same $95.00 per hour with a minimum of one hour. Naturally, any remote tutoring must be prepaid.

Can we meet in person before I hire you to tutor my child?

Of course! I charge one hour of my standard tuition rate for the initial meeting. Even if we're not the right fit for your child, I can provide valuable resources and insights based on my experience.

I have two children. Is the tuition doubled for tutoring both?

Not if Dr. D or I can tutor them at the same time. We want to help your children with their education. As a parent myself, I certainly wouldn't want you to have to choose which of your children gets tutored and which of your children doesn't get tutored.

Appointment times are limited for In Home Tutoring

Especially during the school year. Summer and other vacation times have a few more openings so your child can catch up, keep up or get ahead.
